Andrew Oliver and David Horniblow met during the set break of a gig. A recording of Jelly Roll Morton's trio was playing on the house sound system and they decided to get together the following week and learn the song. Since then they've been delving into a book of interesting and little-played material from the 20's, performing both transcriptions of performances by Morton, Barney Bigard, Earl Hines, Johnny Dodds, and others, as well as re-interpreting a variety of tunes from the era. They play together in the Dime Notes and the Vitality Five, both bands specializing in different facets of early jazz and swing.
