The Gaitor Dog Snappers are a New Orleans party music krewe, committed to bringing the true spirit of traditional jazz music to venues large and small with whatever instruments they can get their hands on!
They met in the fabled Spotted Cat on Frenchmen St, New Orleans, and brought back authentic grooves, thumping basslines, soaring clarinet and aching harmonies to venues high and low.
Featured at the EFG London Jazz festival, Shambala and The Cut, London Bridge, they are regulars at The Magic Garden, Jamboree, Rumpus Party, the Blues Kitchens and the UK festival scene. The Snappers enrapture crowds at Columbia Road flower market every Sunday and fill dance floors at London's top swing dance events.
London bred and New Orleans trained drummer, bassist and vocalist Hannah toured international a multiple award winning brass band, before moving to the USA to study traditional jazz drums with Shannon Powell of Preservation Hall Jazz Band. There she plays countless Second Lines and Mardi Gras parades, and performs three nights a week on the notorious jazz hub Frenchmen Street. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Alice has most notably performed with the New Orleans Jazz Vipers, and the late great Allen Toussaint. She can be found weekly playing solo gospel guitar at The Blues Kitchen. Clarinettist Joe is highly in demand in the UK jazz scene, bringing new life to traditional melodies with his playful style and characterful tone.
