BANDINI - SOLO BLUES PIANO
Hailing from Italy with a home in London, Bandini has been described as “the bastard son of Tom Waits and Cab Calloway”. His musical influences originally came from his creative, musical family.
His grandmother, a former cabaret artist, taught him how to create a stage persona and win the crowd’s attention. His father introduced him to blues and jazz music and his uncle (singer-songwriter for Chantango) introduced him to the art of song writing.
His major influences are diverse, which have led him to fuse jazz, blues, rock and gypsy into a dynamic live show. This combined with his enigmatic and theatrical stage performances has led him to become one of the most exciting emerging artists in London.
At Oriole, Bandini will be performing his piano influences, Tom Waits, Dr John, old school Blues, alongside some of his originals combined with a few Italian jazz numbers.

THE FALLEN HEROES - AUTHENTIC NEW ORLEANS RHYTHM AND BLUES
Brothers Ben Martyn and Emile Martyn spent their formative years living in New Orleans surrounded by world-class musicians from the New Orleans music world.
While riding to work across a Swiss mountain on a snowcat with trumpeter Paul Bonner who he’d just met. Paul said he wanted to form a band in London playing contemporary New Orleans style music. A month later the Fallen Heroes were born. Emile persuaded his brother Ben to join on vocals and bass. Ben came more from the rhythm ‘n’ blues side of town and had been working with his own band as a guitarist, pianist and singer both in the U.S and in London.
The collective idea, between the three of them, was to stay close to the roots of New Orleans music, both old and new, and combine it with the sounds and experiences of living back in London.
The band, collectively or with other projects, play such events as the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival, BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, London’s Camden Roundhouse, private functions for the Queen, the list goes on. The band are now based in London but play all over the world.
