Step downstairs from Slingsby Place, just off Long Acre, into Oriole's speakeasy-inspired restaurant. Low lamps, deep banquettes and a stage set for the evening's musicians: the room keeps the spirit of the original Oriole, now in the heart of Covent Garden. Book a table for dinner and live jazz, or simply arrive and let the night unfold.

Eat

Our à la carte menu celebrates the fusion cuisines of Latin America, drawing on Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese), Argentine-Italian and regional Mexican traditions. Begin with sea bream ceviche and leche de tigre, then move on to charred pork chop with Nikkei salsa macha, or 34-day aged sirloin with chimichurri. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are marked on the menu.

Drink

It would not be Oriole without the cocktails. Inspired by the adventure-seeking oriole bird, our menu, An Album of Mixed Drinks, travels from Europe and Africa to the Americas and Asia, pairing unusual ingredients with techniques from around the world. A short, considered wine list, Champagnes and fine spirits complete the offer, alongside alcohol-free serves.

UPCOMING LIVE MUSIC

From Tuesday to Saturday, some of London's finest musicians take the stage for live jazz, blues and Latin sounds. Sets run from 8pm to 8.45pm and from 9.15pm to 10pm, with a late set on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30pm. A cover charge of £4 to £12, paid directly to the musicians, is added to your bill. Booking is recommended.
